We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Deborah Prutting, co-founder of Prutting + Company. She will be greatly missed.
Deborah Ann Prutting of New Canaan, CT passed away on August 8th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family after a years-long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on August 4th, 1951 in Mt. Kisco, NY to the late Frank J. DiMicco and Anna Muraca DiMicco. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David L. Prutting, her two children, David X. Prutting and Elizabeth Prutting Mendelson, their spouses, Chau Ngo Prutting and Daniel N. Mendelson, and three cherished grandchildren, Lucas X. Prutting, Mai Layla Prutting, and Julian E. Mendelson. She was a beloved sibling of Daniel DiMicco, Frank DiMicco, Laura DiMicco and Rosemary DiMicco, and a treasured aunt by her many nieces and nephews. She married Dave in 1975 and soon after they moved to Houston, Texas where Deb chose to join Dave working alongside him in their carpentry and roofing business. Relocating to CT in 1979 the couple founded and operated Prutting & Company Custom Builders, a successful and well-regarded business. Debbie was a principled business owner and on matters of work ethic, scruples, and morality she would cut no corners.
The family is planning a public Memorial gathering for Deborah on Saturday September 23rd 2023 at 2:30pm on the Extown Farm Property, 485 Laurel Road, New Canaan. In lieu of cut flowers they are requesting plantable flowers/plants ideally purchased through the Green Up Garden Center in New Canaan, or donations in Deborah’s name to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, or New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance and CERTS groups.
